The Hooters Saga

It was October 4th, 1983, in Clearwater, Florida USA and history was about to be made…

Six fun loving businessmen with roots in the Midwest of America and with no experience in the food service business were opening the doors to a restaurant with an owl in the logo, chicken wings as the feature item and girls in orange shorts. After frantically locating a friend to show them how to start the fryer,, Hooters was off and crawling.

The crawl soon turned into a stride and now Hooters is running at full speed with more than 445 restaurants operating worldwide in USA, England, Japan, South Africa, China, Greece, Mexico, Germany, Canada, Austria, Singapore, Chile, Spain, and now Australia. In addition there is a News stand Magazine, Credit Card, Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Swimsuit Calendar (the second biggest selling in the USA after the Sports Illustrated Calendar), Professional Golf Tour and Motor Racing Series all under the Hooters umbrella.

This “neighborhood restaurant” concept is simple… a fun and casual dining restaurant with a great atmosphere, delicious steaks, ribs, burgers and chicken wings, ice cold beer, sports on television and the only place you'll find the “nearly world famous” Hooters Girls! These elements combined make Hooters the place for everyone in the community who enjoys great food and good fun!
